It is a democratic organisation for the development of Shotokan Karate.
It is affiliated to European and World Karate bodies.
There are senior (UK based) professional instructors who conduct gradings and instruct on many free courses all around the UK. Its senior instructors were part of the original team that beat the Japanese; they had never been beaten until then.
The KUGB has 5 Regions:
Southern, Central, Wales, Northern and Scotland
Each region has its own elected officer with a secretary and a treasurer; Patrick D'Arcy is the Central Region secretary.
